MY APPROACH

I hope to create a space where my clients feel safe, accepted, seen, and understood. My style is warm, engaged, active and empathic, with a healthy dose of humor. I aim to join clients in a collaborative endeavor to gain compassionate insight into old patterns of behavior and emotional coping that are no longer working for them, and I help them build a life that is less constrained by symptoms of trauma, depression, anxiety, and related problems. We work together to build a freer and more meaningful life.
I have advanced training in diverse models of therapy, but I tend to think and practice integratively. I work with each person as an individual to determine what approach/approaches are best suited to the problems they present and their current state of functioning. I have advanced training in the treatment of Complex PTSD, completed intensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy training in 2007 and sit on a consultation team, and I obtained graduate and post-graduate training in psychodynamic treatment.
